 IT'S A DAMN NICE DAY! well, it can't get better.mrs chan gave me the curry puffs she owes me from last year. melzies brought it home. it's the nicest curry puff ever! and she gave 2 as she promised. it's really really nice of her. I didn't eat all. I gave mel one. =) AND WE WATCHED ARASHI'S KITTO DAIJOUBU ON MTV!!!!! haha. me and mel went crazy just now. we were screaming and shouting. haha=p yesterday was a fun day. we went out shopping. me K and HL. budget shopping still manages burn a very big hole in our pockets. thank goodness jdee came to the rescue=) I got a mustard shorts, a very small shorts and slippers! it was really fun shopping with the gals. we should go shopping more often. we can try out clothes(heh u know what I mean) ooh. tribaling after that was fun too. me and jdee went to kino to check out jap mags. we browsed thru alot of mags. haha. I think I made alot of noise, busy exclaiming who's hot and who looks yucky. mel came. we wanted to go to mise s*clusive. BUT IT DISAPPEARED!!! horrors of horrors!!!! where did it go???? =( we went to HMV after that. mel was quite dazed 'cos mise s*clusive disappeared. so she bought NEWS NIPPON 0304 though she isn't exactly a NEWS fan. really fun day it was yesterday. it's a slack day today. I was either sleeping, on the computer or cooking. I still have heart pains. it's damn yucky. it just constricts. rar. I think I'm going on a no-fried-food-and-all-healthy-food diet. can't exactly have a heart attack at my age right? =p oh the yiyis all came over. and aunty teresa. I roasted pork ribs and belly pork. the ribs were done the usual way. the belly pork was trimmed of the skin and some fat and then tied. the stuffing(which is the seasoning) consisted of dill, grated lemon & orange, pepper, salt and garlic. inspiration from jamie oliver=) and if you haven't noticed, I absolutely love to put garlic into everything.
I did a soup too. there's was a lack of veggies!! I had to settle with random veggies. but it was a thrown together kinf of soup. I based the soup on several recipes. it's not fixed. well, very few of my recipes are fixed. there're all in my head. it turned out good though. it was really chunky. I shall cut down of the stuff the next time. I'm happy. very. 8:45 PM

this shall be a short post. I need to watcht the Jap version of Journey to the west now. it's the last episode. I'm happy to say that I burnt a CD full of T&T and NEWS songs=) I made banana gelato. I totally forgot to mix it up yesterday so the ice crystals are rather big. oh well. but it tastes good. yummy!  I baked banana cake today. I apparently bruised alot of bananas I think it got squashed by some big bag of heavy fruits. oops. I'm too lazy to take a pic of it. it's just cake.and you know, I think insects are blind. they can irritatingly fly into your face. hmph. 11:45 PM

Kanjani8's All of me for you is very nice. it's non-tribal sounding for once. their songs always have this tribal thing which is quite nice but I like this song very much. too bad I can't get the mp3. rar. I went to the wet market with mama today. melzies was evil. that lazy poke didn't wake up=( it was quite fun. and the wet market doesn't stink. I actually quite like the smell. (yes I'm weird.) we bought pork, fish, vegetables and fruits from mama's usual stalls. I really really like groceries shopping. it's damn fun. we went to the library this afternoon. and we can borrow up to 8 books till somewhere in July! I went to the cookery section and borrowed very very nice books. and they are rather(actually very) big books. there's this super huge book on Italian Cuisine. it has info on regional specialities. and it is very informative. there are a few more very good books too. I was about to use the com but there was a short circuit. darn! so I went to cook dinner. Cream of spinach soup was rather tricky to make. I kinda burned the same spot in the pot twice! I didn't want the soup to have this slight burnt taste so I washed it twice. it turned out pretty okay. but it needs better stock. the roast chicken was GREAT! it was really juicy and tender. A brine marinade really makes a huge difference. I love fesh herbs. I used fresh thyme which I got from the supermarket. it smells heavenly. the only herb I don't like is sage. it reminds me of lemon dishwashing liquid. I tired out roasting beetroot for the 1st time. it tastes quite queer. the pumpkin and peppers were really really good. weird green soup/cream of spinach  roast chicken I'm rambling about food. I'm just totally obsessed with food. been thinking of preparing meals since last week. planning menus and all. during this holiday, I want to cook/bake the following: roast pork, minestrone, tortellini, lasagne, panna cotta, honey cake, salads...there's so many I just can't remember them all. 10:45 PM
I've decided that my font colour for all my posts shall be in grey. white is a lil too glaring. colour posts shall be no more I guess. no more entries in red font colour=( but oh well it looks better all in one colour I guess. entries on food shall be in white 'cos they're special. okay I'm talking rubbish already. =) yamapi's cover of arashi's sawarenai is really nice. I was fangirling with melzies just now. we watched SUMMARY again. haha. it's very nice. Koyama is super cute! =p anyway supermarket trip today was quite nice. there wasn't much to buy though. I'm going with mama and mels to the wet market tomorrow. I need to pick up stuff I want to use to cook with. there's this lil bit of me that wants to start ballet classes again. I talked to mr cheong today. he asked whether I'm taking up ballet again. and it's surprising he can still remember me. haha I guess he kinda saw me grow up. too bad I'm not flexible. if not I'll be carrying on with ballet till now. oh well. I have cooking/baking now. so it's okay. anyway, I've decided that I'm going for class chalet and I'm not going for holiday with my family. it's really bad of me not to go with my family. but I don't want to regret. so there.. yesterday, I watched Jamie's great Italian escape again. the new tv came in time! thank goodness. the new 7/8 days-old tv died. so they sent a replacement. okay, back to the show. it's just a really really interesting show. and I think I'm stuck to Italian food. I've always liked Italian cuisine. and I always end up with one Italian cookbook when I go to the library. I really like Italian food. but it's damn hard to replicate or produce Italian dishes due to local produce. rar. WHY CAN'T SINGAPORE BE NICE AND COOL??? I want fresh herbs=( oh! we're having roast chicken, cream of spinach soup and bread rolls tomorrow! =) I feel hungry already. 11:15 PM

ok I'm slightly less irritated now. school was so slack! gosh. It didn't even feel like a proper day in school. oh HL came back for maths and the rest. I almost thought she wouldn't come. thanks for the apple=) a bunch of us stayed in class and talked. it was quite amusing yet infomative at the same time. OH I finished watching Ganbatte Ikamasshoi. it's a really really nice drama. it's about rowboating. I find it really cool. ryo is damn hot. taguchi is hot too=p and uchi in the 1st few eps was the hottest ever. I think screen caps of ryo from this drama would be really nice. ryo's hair looks better in this than 1 litre of tears. so =) it's supermarket day tomorrow! 11:57 PM
hmph. I'm damn pissed with nini and didi. damn irritated. they are NOT allowed to use the computer during the weekend. I don't care. they obviously took advantage that the com was on. mama and papa aren't around 'cos they went off to watch Da Vinci Code. they didn't ask permission. and they happily used it without even telling me when I'm the one using the com. I accidentally left it on. damn it. damn pissed. and they're making a whole damn load of noise. rar piss me off. they totally just know how to piss me off. shall blog again when I'm in a better mood. 11:45 PM

I think I'm mad. I slept for 2 and a half hours just now. and mel couldn't wake me up although I was half asleep. oh we went for tennis finals yesterday. it was pretty okay. and we won=) I felt quite bad for the 1st game we watched. the RJ player was obviously not focusing very well and maybe somewhat intimidated by the AC supporters. and I'm rather shocked(actually more likely disgusted) at the lack of sportsmanship shown by the RJ guys' team. tsk. school was pretty okay today. HL didn't come 'cos she's a sick gal. GP test wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. it's 2 more days of school and it's the hols. I'm pretty excited really=) oh! I have this yucky bruise from walking blindly into a fire hydrant yesterday. how stupid can that get right? rar. 9:45 PM

yay! it's a damn nice day. although it's kinda busy and all that. I woke up at about 1130. and started cooking almost immediately! nobody helped. I was rushing out lunch. and the kitchen was in a total mess! claud, mel and popo helped out a lil. but still.... AND I don't know how to sear fish=( shall try it out again. I tried out a new salad dressing. I used ranch dressing, japanese mayonaise, toasted bacon and garlic. it's very nice=) I did baked salmon with lemon garlic butter sauce. it wasn't bad but just not salty enough. OH I roasted mushrooms(portobello and white button) too. with minced garlic and some olive oil drizzled over. yum=) baked salmon  roasted mushrooms
I guess what cooks/chefs really want is to have an group of people whereby they can feed them anything they want and almost forever. and this group of people must really appreciate the stuff placed before them. 9:30 PM

we asked didi who's the cleverest person. and he answered God. and we asked who's the second cleverest. and he said Jesus. and then we asked why. and he said God created everything. so God is the creator of all knowledge. it's quite amazing that such a young kid answer such questions so naively and innocently. I feel quite bad. I kind of fell asleep during Father Joe's homily=( apparently it was one of the very good ones he gives. hmm=( it's a rather slack day. I haven't baked cheesecake yet! rar. OH! mama bought a huge entire salmon from NTUC. it costs 70 bucks. gosh. but it's damn nice. shall be baking fish tomorrow. yummy! I got a caesar dressing! so I can make caesar salad. yay! I still haven't succeeded. there's no one thing I've baked/cooked that didi really eats up. or exclaims that it's very nice without me asking about it. oh well. I'll continue trying as always. Jamie's great Italian escape was damn nice. it's very interesting to see how he deals with people and how he tries to grasp what Italian cuisine really is. it's more than coooking really. and he's a damn funny person. and I'm quite convinced that I'm going the right way. well, at least my purpose in wanting to be a chef is sort of correct. Jamie Oliver said something very similar like making people happy by serving great food. anyway, my knife skills are quite horrible. I'm very slow. rar. shall help out with dinner more often. school isn't stressful anymore even though there's tons of work to do. I guess I'm just either stoning or daydreaming in school or talking rubbish with someone. but it's nice. time passes so quickly that it's gonna be the middle of the year so soon! exciting! haha. I think I shall bake cheesecake tomorrow night. yup. I'm eating cake almost everyday. I don't believe in restricting diets. we should enjoy all the stuff we get to eat. maybe we could just not eat unhealthy stuff alll the time. I don't know how to explain myself. it's unhealthy to eat just everything but I just don't see the point in restricted oneself to an extremely strict diet. it's total madness. on the other hand, it's perfectly normal for a person who wants to be a chef to want to eat everything. food is practically my life( well at least in a way) 9:45 PM

I PASSED MY 2.4 km run finally! and it was my fastest ever!15.51.. my gosh. thanks aud and jdee for running with me=) and all the random things u guys did I'm a very happy person though I'm kinda tired now. school was pretty ok. it was just the usual slack stuff. we didn't go to town after school 'cos KC was kinda lazy. so I eneded up going to Jp with IH for a while to get his random stuff. and I went to the library to wait for YY. read one book until she came. anyway it was damn fun. we ate alot of stuff. we started off by eating some stuff upstairs. then, we went to eat ice-cream at the basement. 5 scoops, mind you. but we don't have NAPFA anymore. so it's okay. and...we went to mac to eat fries=p damn piggy-ish but I don't care!! it was damn fun talking rubbish and all. too bad nana couldn't make it. but it's okay. happy day! 10:15 PM

yay! it's a nice day=) I slept at 3am yesterday 'cos I was busy watching vids on youtube and downloading songs from myspace. now, my song list on WMP is great! it has ALL NEWS singles, arashi stuff and some random songs..even kanjani8! =) yes. I'm very happy now. totally love the songs. Oh I have finally finished watching Ichii Rittoru no Namida aka 1 litre of tears. I was eating myojo cup noodles and watching on mel's laptop. I went to the library to pick up some books. the cookery section is very good. better than JE's but very messy. I got a couple of very interesting and good books. I did dinner today with the help of claud. penne pasta with a tomato based sauce with spinach & mushroom. yum.. ok it's ten already. shall go off to do something else. 10:00 PM

heh. my dad is watching soccer now. and the TV is dying. it's a slack day!!! I watched all of Dragon Zakura. it's quite an interesting show. it's quite enlightening in a way. and I heard people in the show say hajime(jap for start) ten billion times. but there are much better shows. and I watched suppin arashi. it's quite a nice concert. and I think I spotted young ryo, ueda other than kame. ohno is super cute back then. he's like a lil boy. and nino looks like as always. ok enough of my jap stuff. I baked carrot cake again 'cos mama wants to eat it. so I baked it. for dinner, mama and I did curried roast chicken=) and a couple of other dishes. yummy!  and you know one of the worst things you can ever say to a chef is to mistake something for something vastly different. maybe chefs just see food differently. oh well. hmph.and people in the house are evil! I have to calll them ten billion times before they come for dinner! so irritating. one day, I should just not do sunday meals. and they shall eat instant noodles! 10:00 PM

ah!!! ryo has a totally gorgeous smile. ok that was random. anyway I had a pretty nice day. Saturday is supermarket day. picked up quite abit of stuff this week. I didn't see the bill today. I hope it doesn't hit 3 hundred again. oh yes! mama and papa bought a NEW TV for us=) we went to JP after church.we got a 32 inch LCD screen. it's arriving on monday or tuesday. exciting!!! anyway, cable tv is very nice. there's almost some show for me to watcht everyday. I watched Jamie's School Dinners yesterday. it's quite shocking to see how british kids eat junk food and not eat healthy food. and I think Jamie Oliver really is a great bloke. anyway, I haven't done a single bit of work yet. and I highly doubt I'll do any. it's mothers' day tomorrow. shall be roasting something as usual. every sunday lunch seems to have a roast item. I think my family is too used to such nice food. ok I shall stop my silly ranting. I think I'm gonna watch Dragon Zakura later. 11:45 PM

school these few days has been pretty enjoyable. filled with random and very cute stuff. somehow, it's less stressed which is quite nice and relaxing. I like ryo now. but I think the hair makes a big difference. his character in 1 litre of tears is rather cute. he has a very nice smile=) and yes I watched almost the whole drama. it's a super tear-jerker! heh. even I can cry while watching it. and ryo looks absolutely hot(erm not exactly the right word to describe but..) when he cries. ok I have a weird thing for jap guys crying in dramas. but ryo's tears are the most convincing as compared to kame(gokusen 2), yamapi(kurosagi) and kimutaku(engine) but it's a very very sweet drama. oh and I got dragon zakura!!! yay! a new drama to watch this weekend. and jdee lent me supppin arashi! it's arashi's first concert. just now the tv died so....I couldn't watch! rar. and talking about the TV..EXCITING! we got CABLE TV!!!! YAY! jamie oliver.nigella lawson.anthony bourdain and so many interesting stuff!!! I watched some nigella show. it's briliant I must say. I like british celeb chefs. and I think by now I missed a big part of Project Runway EP1. oh never mind. oh the TV is dying. so we're gonna get a flat screen TV real soon. on sat I think. I think my comp is going mad. it's laggy. heh. anyway I'm in a weird thinking mood. so don't bother if I'm talking rubbish. somehow, I don't feel in the right state of mind. I don't know it but just feels weird. I don't know whether it's myself forming those barriers or what. rar. maybe I just like or want to blame other things. rar. I hate this. I guess I just didn't push myself hard enough. I just can't think properly now. time is passing so quickly that the hols is coming. there's so much homework to do but I'm just not bothered enough to think of it. maybe I daydream about the future too much. whenever I read the newspaper, I will read the classified ads to look out for F&B jobs. I feel happy and damn excited looking at various hotels and restaurants wanting to engage cooks, chefs and what-nots. guess I'm thinking too far ahead. I really wish time could just fast forward. I think I'm weird. I sure do love school 'cos there's friends and great memories. sometimes, i just want to grow up really fast. I don't know whether being a chef is really the right path for me. I don't know if I can put in the effort and time. but I'm willing to try and learn. I don't need to own some michelin-starred restaurant or to be some celeb chef. I just want make people happy by eating something nice. it's that simple. and always has been. that's the thing that makes me want to bake/cook over and over again. anyway, there's a few years before I even get professional training. 10:30 PM

I spent my entire afternoon in the kitchen. oh well. it was 5 pm before I knew it. anyway I woke up late at about 12. and went on to bake quiche. it has ham,mushrooms and cherry tomatoes in it. Quiche  and yes I haven't started studying for bio test yet! gosh.and after baking quiche I went on to bake carrot cake. I took ten billion years trying to grate 5/6 carrots. but it was worth the effort. the cake is moist, crumbly and yummy. the cream cheese frosting is really nice too. too bad it isn't dense. yay, cake to eat. Carrot cake  there's school tomorrow. rar. but it's jdee's bday! whee! fun=) food!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok, lame. =p I think jdee's gonna like her card ALOT.8:45 PM

it's a nice day. my favourite salad dressing is ranch for the time being. I think I got too sick of thousand island. lunch was nice. I watched alot of jappy videos today and yesterday. I think I went a lil mad yesterday night. I watched ep 2 of kurosagi and went damn high when it was super late. was talking to mel too. slept at like 3 plus I think. anyway, YY treated me and esther to sushi yesterday! it was damn nice of her(I think she got quite scared of me 'cos I wanted more than an hour for them) GUESS WHAT! BS didn't turn up. rar. apparently she quarelled with YC and couldn't come. but we had a very nice time at Sakae Sushi. ate ika(squid), tako(octopus) and hokkigai(whelk) sushi for the 1st time. oh YY's new phone is scarey. it's like a lil computer. but the camera is damn good! the pics we took are super cute!! oh I think my phone is going mad which is very bad. rar. I wanna eat alot of stuff! I want jap concert vcd/dvd! and my fav song now is cherish by NEWS. it's a very nice song. and it has cute dance moves! jdee, go see it on youtube! 11:30 PM

HL's birthday yesterday was really really fun. we ended school at about 2 plus. we ended up taking 196 all the way to Parkway Parade. IH went off to get his atm card which was eaten up by the machine. heh we crapped all the way there. the bus ride was SO LONG. we practically went on a trip around the entire CBD area. was talking about the food found along the bus route. Parkway Parade is an absolute foodies's paradise!!!! there's tons of food outlets there. and specialty food shops. there's was a Japanese fish mart. we ate really really nice salmon sashimi sushi. there was a butchery too! all the lovely cuts of beef and stuff! we went to Swensons to eat ice cream. yes it's dessert before dinner. HL had her complimentary firehouse. me and jdee shared sticky chewy chocolate. and we ate fries! yummy! IH came in time to eat some stuff. us at swensons
there were so many PAP people there(elections is tomorrow!) we sat outdoors. it was a really nice dinner and not to mention money-draining. we ate steamed prawns, fried stuffed youtiao, oyster sauce kailan and CHILLI CRAB. it was damn nice=) rar. and it was so unglam eating it. I'm the worst. tsk.
it was damn fun. I love it. and I'm very very happy that HL really enjoyed her bday=) yay! oh check out my photo album if u wanna see even more unglam photos. and I tell u those aren't the most unglam. heh. 10:00 PM
